4 Tips to Reduce Maintenance Rates in Loader Operations in Cold Seasons

Winter poses great challenges to the normal operation of various types of construction machinery. Today, let me briefly share the operation skills of the mechanical equipment of a loader in cold weather, hoping to remind everyone.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

4 Tips to Reduce Maintenance Rates in Loader Operations in Cold Seasons

1. Fully warm up before starting work

Before winter operation, the engine should run at low speed for 5 minutes. During the warm-up process, the operator should check whether the installed machine is leaking oil or water, whether the oil warning light is off, whether the charging indicator light is off, whether the sound of the engine and the color of the exhaust gas is normal, whether the machine Whether each part is abnormal. After the engine is warmed up, the hydraulic device should be preheated by operating the loader to perform various slow actions to prevent damage to the hydraulic device caused by rapid operation.

2. Replace diesel and engine oil

In winter, when the temperature around the loader becomes lower, the viscosity of various oils in the fuselage will increase, and it will become difficult to start the loader. At this time, the operator should choose light diesel oil with a low freezing point and good ignition performance and replace Higher-grade oil.

3. Monitor Installed Battery Storage Capacity

The lower the ambient temperature is, the lower the storage capacity of the installed battery will be. Care should be taken to keep the installed battery warm. Several methods can be used as a reference: the first one is to prepare a quilt to cover the battery to keep it warm; the second one is to remove the battery from the fuselage store it in a warm room, and then install it when in use.

4. Timely Discharge of Cooling Water

When adding antifreeze to the cooling system of the installed machine in winter, add it proportionately to the lowest temperature. If the installed engine needs to be parked for some time, pay attention to emptying the cooling water in the engine at this time. When turning on the water, the engine should run at idle speed before turning off the engine, and turn off the engine and turn on the water after the temperature of the cooling water drops below 60°C (140°F) and the water is not hot. Note that the remaining water must be completely drained to prevent it from freezing and expanding, causing the body to burst.
